A2)GARDO was founded on 19th May 2001 and it was founded in London, UK.

Q3) Where is Gabiley located?

A3) Gabiley is located in the North-West of Somaliland. It has now taken the Regional status as it has been waiting this since the early 1960s. The reason is this region is one of the largest and most populous provinces in the whole of Somaliland, contributing the largest revenue and agricultural resources for the whole country. This is mainly due to its strategic location of bordering with landlocked Ethiopia on to the West, and with its naturally suitable terrains for farming and also stretching to the coastal areas of Lughaya and other places. More importantly it has the advantages of closer proximity with the capital city of Hargeisa with less 30Km in distance.

A4) The Diaspora from Gabiley got together and came up with the idea of founding a non profit & non political organisation with the purpose to address the humanitarian and development programmes in the Gabiley region. The Diaspora also benefitted from this organisation in the sense that it has become something brings everyone together for a common goal - improving the lives of the ordinary people in Gabiley region.
